Healing Butter Visualisation

 

Long ago one of the ancient masters was having a hard day. She (or he) had an exciting new meditation technique to give to her students. She loved this technique and knew that it would really help them out.

Of course, there was a hitch - the whole monastery had the flu.

Knowing that she herself didn't meditate too well when she was ill, and seeing that the folks around here were also having a difficult time meditating, the master meditated deeply. After a while, a healing meditation was revealed to her.

The master was thrilled! She could heal everyone and then teach that really great technique she was so excited about. As it happened, the healing meditation was passed on, and on, and on through the ages and has itself become a timeless classic.

This story is an artistic rendering of events. It's completely fictional, but the technique is (ancient and) real!

 

    The Technique
  1. Sit up comfortably, with your spine as straight as possible. (The energy flows better this way.)
  2. Close your eyes.
  3. Imagine a lump of warm butter on top of your head.
  4. Gradually the butter melts. It runs down and coats your entire body with soft warmth.
  5. Feel the butter coat everything - head to toe.
  6. Repeat as many times as possible.
